Listen to Art Mantecon and Gilberto Rodriguez!

Art Mantecón was born in Laredo, Texas and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Mantecón’s poetry and prose have appeared in several reviews and anthologies, and he has been featured at various poetry venues in Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Jose, and around the Bay Area. In 2011, his translation of Spanish madman’s Leopoldo Maria Panero, titled My Naked Brain, was published by Swan Scythe Press. Translating Panero’s poetry had consumed him for several years. In a review of a Mantecón reading, Tim Kahl, of the Sacramento Poetry Center, called his a “power performance.”

Gilberto Rodriguez is a poet, playwright, musician, storyteller, and singer/ songwriter. He is the founder of musical group, Diluvio, as well as the theatre group, Unheimlich. His plays have been performed in Sacramento and at the Cayuga Vault in Santa Cruz. His production of Antonin Artaud and his Doubles premiered in Santa Cruz in the spring of 2009.
