LIBERTY KOVACS
Liberty Kovacs is a novelist and clinical therapist who has practiced marriage counseling successfully for thirty-five years. Her autobiography, published in 2008, is titled Liberty’s Quest: The Compelling Story of the Wife and Mother of Two Pulitzer Prize Winning Poets, and tells about her breaking free from the patriarchal rule of her Greek immigrant family and setting an uneasy but independent course that led her to become a nurse and marry the poet James Wright. The novel has been described as “a courageous and triumphant story of making the most of unhappiness and despair…an amazing epic of one person’s search for personal freedom.”

JANET SIVORI BERRY
Janet Berry is a Board Member, Co-founder and Past President of the Davis Schools Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated toward raising funds for the Davis Joint Unified School District. The foundation is run by an all-volunteer executive board whose members come from all walks of life but share a common thread: all are parents of current, former or future Davis Joint Unified School District students and all support public education. They have launched their annual Dollar-a-Day Campaign to offset cutbacks in educational services and staff that DJUSD plans for 2010-11 in Davis schools.
