Susan Cohen is a poet and journalist who lives in Berkeley. Susan was a reporter for the San Jose Mercury News, taught journalism at UC Berkeley, and served as a contributing writer for the Washington Post Magazine before studying poetry while on a journalism fellowship at Stanford University. She is the author of two poetry chapbooks. Her poetry honors include the Rita Dove Poetry Award, the Anderbo Poetry Prize, the New Millennium Writings Best Poem Award, and an Atlanta Review International Publication Prize.

She is now working on her MFA in poetry at Pacific University’s low-residency program in Oregon. Cherry Grove Collections recently published her first full-length collection of poems: Throat Singing.
