Studio 301

JAZZ TRICE (Director)
Jazz is a 5th year Dramatic Arts major and Treasurer of Studio 301 Productions. During his time at UC Davis, he’s appeared in the musicals The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Chip Tolentino), Hair: The American Tribal Love Rock Musical (Hud), and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (Schroeder), original works Empty All The Boxes (Jamie Hudson) and #5 The Angry Red Drum (Backwards Soldier) and Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale (Cleomenes). This is his second year working with Studio 301 Productions as a producer and his first time directing a full-length play. He’s very proud of this production, the actors, designers, and especially of all the rumors he’s ever spread (which are all true…including the ones about him).

ULYSSES MORAZAN (Director)
Ulysses is a fourth year Dramatic Arts major. Being that this is Morazan’s first show to direct, he is glad to have worked alongside Jazz Trice in making Rumors the wonderfulness it is today. He was last seen in Studio 301’s production of Hair as Ody. Some of his favorite roles include Scarecrow in Wizard of Oz, Derry in UC Davis’s ThirdEye Theater Festival, Snug in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Old Man/Soldier in Macbeth. He would like to thank his family and friends for all of their support and love.

KYLE LOCHRIDGE (Lenny/Sound Designer)
Kyle is a psychology student in his last year at Davis. Kyle has been involved with Studio 301 since his freshmen year and would like to thank all his fellow members for their hard work and dedication. Also a thanks to Julie for all her help.

CHRISTINA RABAGO (Cassie)
Christina is fourth year student at UCD with hopes to graduate in the spring with a degree in NPB and the Dramatic Arts. This is her first show with 301 and has had an amazing time working on it. She has a special place in her heart for the directors, cast, and everyone else involved. She feels blessed to have had this opportunity and the support from her loving family.

UC Davis Department of Theater and Dance

PETER LICHTENFELS (Director)
Lichtenfels is a UC Davis Department of Theatre & Dance professor and professional theatre director. He writes on Shakespeare and contemporary performance and has championed cross-cultural theatre throughout his career. He was the Artistic Director of Edinburgh’s Traverse Theatre and London’s Leicester Haymarket Theatre where he introduced radical international and alternative theatre to the United Kingdom. Collaborating with the Chinese in 2008, he set A Midsummer Night’s Dream in a flashy bar with colorful millennium age costumes and Mandarin language at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center. It won “Best Production” by the Shanghai International Arts Festival. Committed to interdisciplinary work among theatre, dance and performance art, he has worked with world-renowned actors including Anthony Hopkins, Tilda Swinton and Robbie Coltrane.

DYLAN BOLLES (Sound Designer)
Bolles makes performances with people and environments, many of which involve the design and construction of new musical instruments and the cultivation of co-creative relationships based in listening practice. His activities include a wide range of performance-based collaboration, time-based arts, installations, and sound compositions. Dylan is a co-founder and artistic director of thingamajigs an Oakland-based music festival and educational non-profit organization, and a doctoral candidate in Performance Studies at UC Davis.

JOHN ZIBELL (Multi-Media Artist)
Zibell is pursuing his M.F.A. in Directing at UC Davis. He is an actor/writer/director working in New York and regional theatre and independent film. John studied acting with Mike Nichols, Paul Sills and George Morrison at the New Actors Workshop in Manhattan. He appeared in the film “The War Within”  and wrote, directed and acted in the film “Sex and Violence,” which earned him the Audience Award and Best Directorial Debut at the NY International Independent Film Festival. John has worked with the legendary Paul Sills, Diane Paulus and maverick director Shira Piven. He has also been a member of a number of grass-roots theatre companies performing original work including Sills and Company and Blue Circle Theater (also with Ms. Paulus and Mr. Sills). John originated the role of Jimmy Patraglia in Joe Roland’s off-Broadway play On The Line, produced by Mr. Nichols.

LIZ GALINDO (Costume Designer)
Galindo’s costume designs have been featured in recent films including “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” “Charlie’s Angel’s” and  “There Will Be Blood,” on TV’s “Sex in the City” and on the red carpet at the Oscars, Emmys and Golden Globes. Sophia Loren, Cate Blanchett, Cameron Diaz and Uma Thurman have worn her Galindo Couture gowns.
